About the studio
Paper & Plaster started as a weekend habit: a borrowed mould, a bucket of pulp and a kitchen table. A few years on, the kitchen table has become a workshop with two presses, a drying loft and a casting bench.
How we work
Paper is formed sheet by sheet from cotton and linen offcuts, pressed, and air-dried for several days. Plaster pieces are cast in silicone moulds we carve ourselves, then cured, sanded and sealed with a breathable wax.
Materials
We use gypsum plaster, recycled textile fibre, plant-based dyes and water-based sealants. Nothing is mass-produced, so small variations in tone and texture are part of each piece.
Commissions
We take a handful of commissions each season: bespoke cornice runs, custom stationery sets and one-off wall reliefs. Lead times are usually four to eight weeks.
